Real seed pearl in shell. June birthstone
A genuine tiny fresh water seed pearl is nestled inside a bivalve shell. The pearls are not pierced. Although made of minerals, pearls are organic in origin, forming inside a variety of mollusc shells. They are a June birthstone. The hinges of the shells have been discreetly reinforced but care should still be used in handling them - move them by the base of the shell, not the top half.
The shell on the left is on a small gold coloured base and so stands on its own ($14). The shell on the right is unmounted and needs to be held in place with a tiny blob of sticky tack or glue ($13). Your choice. The shells shown are representative; each bivalve has a slightly different colour to it, ranging from white to having a touch of yellow or pink. Let me know if you have a strong preference and I'll try to oblige, otherwise it will be a small surprise :-)
Approximately 5/16 inch (0.8 cm) wide, just under 5/16 inch (0.8 cm) deep and 5/16 inch (0.8 cm) high.
