Brass, lapis lazuli & turquoise decorations, Nepal
These are actually intricate hand made beads, of brass, with tiny chips of lapis lazuli and turquoise embedded in resin. They are made in the Himalayas, probably in Nepal rather than Tibet. I suspect that the stone chips have been somewhat dyed to enhance their colour. They are discreetly glued on gold-plated brass or plain brass mounts. I have another grouping that is made with a slightly different pattern to the brass sides.
5/8 inch (1.6 cm) wide, approximately 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) deep and 15/16 inch (2.4 cm) or 11/16 inch (1.75 cm) tall.
