Enrolled trilobite, back A beautifully preserved fossil enrolled trilobite from Morocco. These creatures are now extinct but lived in the oceans. They could roll up like modern pill bugs (wood lice) as this one is. Most had compound eyes, like many modern insects, and if you look closely at the pop-up photo of the side of this one you can clearly see the myriad lenses preserved in this fossil. Just amazing detail! I believe that this fossil is of a Phacops species.
