Birthstones

The Traditional birthstone list is based on stones used in the 19th century and earlier. The Modern list is the one we are probably most familiar with; it was formalized in 1912 based on earlier traditions but also includes some more recently discovered gem stones. The birthstone specimens are organized alphabetically, so you can simply scroll down to find your favourite stone or click on active links to go to specimens.
